WE ARE LIVE

For the past eight months we have been tirelessly working on DUFFL. The day has finally come and I’m thankful to say it’s live.

DUFFL is a platform, a space, a community label.

For all the people who are new here I would like to introduce myself. My name is Kiowa Tait and I’m a local musician from Newcastle, NSW. I did a bachelors of communications and started producing music in 2020 to learn a new skill. When I realised it would be much harder to find communication and music production based jobs in Newcastle I decided I was going to do it myself. Start my own path. I had seen so many other artists I liked do that so why not I. That is where the idea of DUFFL came. DUFFL represents a bag of tricks, a bag full of ideas. You carry it with you but you just need to unzip it and see what’s inside.

I wanted to make music and release it somewhere that had a true platform so I could formally explain the stories and meanings behind them. It’s such a passion of mine that I would like to do it with other music too.

What started as myself wanting to create music turned into a greater goal of building a space akin to “The Needle Drop” or “Pigeons and Planes”. The difference here however is that it would act as a sort of self releasing label too. Pushing my own music as well as long time friends and collaborators.
